I hate politics.

It’s all about ego.

About someone believing that they are right, that they know best and then getting others to agree with them.

It comes from a place of fear and insecurity. Needing to prove themselves. Needing everyone else to agree. Because that reinforces the ego.

But the ego is always living in fear of being undermined, of being found out.

People who work from ego think they are leaders. But this isn’t true leadership.

True leadership is about creating a vision that inspires and engages people. It’s about listening to people, getting feedback, and evolving the vision as a result.

It’s about letting go of the idea that there is a right or wrong way to do things and giving people the ability to contribute and collaborate to create a better world.

It’s about letting go of the ego and self-importance and serving something greater.

We all have an ego and we all do politics, whether at home, at work, with friends. The more we can recognise the feeling and let go of the need to be “right”, the better the world will be.
